A tile so weird I’ve never seen before.
It doesn’t belong at all to the floor,
This oddity, what is it for?

Un azulejo perplejo, un gran desacato.
No pertenece, no encaja al suelo,
¿De dónde va? Lo saben solo el cielo.

Ni su textura parece correcta,
Ni su figura resulta perfecta.

Hier, in meinem Zimmer mit Wänden von vier,
Liegt eine Fliese, sie passt nicht hier.
Die Fliese gehört hier wirklich nicht hin,
Was macht sie hier? Vielleicht weiß es der Himmel darin.

Was macht diese Fliese, so anders, so eigen?
Ihre Struktur scheint nicht zu geigen,
Ihre Form will sich nicht neigen.

Sie passt nicht hier, doch fest im Land.
Besonders, aber nicht wie der Rest,
Ihre Eigenheit macht sie zum Fest.
