This Is the Time to

Verse 1

We ran so fast and got used to the race,

We forgot to stop and smell flowers in place.

We are chasing the days as they pass,

Always focusing on the cracks in the glass.

Our hearts fill with worry and fear,

This is the time… for peace to appear,

To see that the glass is half full and clear.

We cover painful memories with silence,

Ignoring what we love, doing ourselves violence.

We collect the weights that yesterday cast,

And because of our anger, we hold to the past.

Anger is a burden that weighs on our shoulders,

This is the time… to open our eyes to these boulders.

Why postpone the good to a future date?

Maybe when we look, it will be too late.

This is the time to be only me,

The truth is right here, it’s my key.

The freedom to laugh and just look at the view,

No script to follow, no rules to pursue,

This is the time to choose.
